The link below is to a drama based on the true story of Elizabeth Keckley and her rise from slavery to become Mary Lincoln’s personal seamstress.  The play focuses on the relationship between James Redpath, who edited Elizabeth’s Keckley’s memoir, published in 1868.  More specifically, it details how Redpath betrayed Keckley through a series of actions that contributed to her public humiliation and disgrace.
