Major at Williams: Studio Art

In 1975, a printmaking major seemed to offer limited prospects for income and impact. A conversation with Professor Ted Sande led to historic preservation and then architecture.  For 35 years, I envisioned new futures for museums and performance spaces and sketched foreign and familiar places in spare moments.  Setting up practice with husband Scott Teas in 2013 has brought teaching, pro bono projects in rural Tanzania and remarkable research assignments like the home of childhood hero, Georgia O’Keeffe.  This winter, an inspiring course on the Printed Book has brought me full circle, remembering long days in Goodrich Hall and imagining new stories to tell.
