Senryu

From Akua Lezli Hope
Senryu is related to haiku. the Japanese poem form.
You may have learned 5-7-5 – think instead, short, long, short.
A statement/observation, an elaboration, a turn, a deepening.
Where haiku is nature focused/nature centered, senryu is focused on human nature and is often satirical and comical.
Senryu explore human foibles, relationships, and societal observation.
